Bio: Meet Halo Jones. She wasn’t anyone special. She wasn’t brave, or clever, or strong. She was just somebody who had to get out. Escaping the Hoop, Manhattan Island’s land of mindless leisure, is just the first step in a cosmic adventure that takes Halo to the far ends of the galaxy, through war and peace, trial, despair and triumph. But as she said: "Anybody could have done it."
Notes: In 1984 the British weekly comic 2000AD was full of tales of Judge Dredd and pyschotic robots. Into this male dominated setting Alan Moore and Ian Gibbons introduced a story about a young woman with no special powers or talents, and in doing so produced one of the most popular runs in the history of that comic.
