Powers: Ultima was shown to possibly possess superhuman strength as she was able to take on the She-Hulk basically blow for blow. The uppermost limits of her strength are unknown.
Bio: Ultima was the daughter of Jack Wordman (also known as The Word), a dictionary editor who had a way with words, able to achieve things he wanted simply with the use of his words. From a young age, Ultima's father conditioned her to become the pinnacle of human perfection. Jack Wordman soon became a cult leader, obssessed with correcting the imperfections in society. Ultima became the role model for all of Wordman's followers.
During this time, Ultima fell in love with a fellow cult member, Randolph Harrison. When Jennifer Walters (She-Hulk), infiltrated the cult to help Randolph escape, Ultima assumed that Walters was flirting with him. Walters was able to get away from Ultima when confronted by turning into the She-Hulk, not knowing wether or not Ultima had seen her transform.
Using a signed statement from Harrison, Walters brought The Word to court, but due to his manipulation of the facts, became helpless in the case. Ultima at this time, wanted revenge on Walters, and during some tense moments in the courtroom, Walters rushed out to avoid anyone seeing her transform into She-Hulk.
Ultima was able to figure out Walters' secret and confronted She-Hulk. The two fought, and She-Hulk picked up a car and threatened Ultima with it. Harrison interrupted the battle to save Ultima, and as he did, distracted She-Hulk enough to drop the vehicle. As the vehicle was about to crush Harrison, Ultima saved him only to have the vehicle fall on her, breaking her spine.
Ultima and her father, The Word, retreated into exile, where The Word forced Ultima to believe that she wasn't paralyzed at all. Once she was cured as it was, The Word rebuilt his cult near coalmines that he owned in the United States.
When Nick Fury lost two S.H.I.E.L.D. agents to The Word, he sent in The Human Torch and The Thing to investigate. Unfortunately, The Word was able to temporarily defeat the two and forced them to work in his mines.
The Thing caused a cave-in to create a diversion, and then fought Ultima as her father watched, and cheered, from the sidelines. Ultima saw as her father was knocked unconscious and her confidence level plummeted, returning her to her paralyzed state. Both Ultima and her father were then taken into S.H.I.E.L.D. custody.
The current where-abouts of Ultima and wether or not she's still in S.H.I.E.L.D. custody are unknown at this time.
