Sir Adrian Stapleford

Search for 'Sir Adrian Stapleford' on Amazon

Bio:
During the Napoleonic era, Sir Adrian Stapleford was an inventor trying to perfect the submarine. His approach was flawed, however, and the Fourth Doctor and Sarah rescued him (and his manservant, Sam) from his not-so-seaworthy craft. Unfortunately, the Doctor's actions were viewed skeptically by the British Navy officers overseeing the project. They believed that he had, far from rescuing Stapleford, sabotaged the project. Only Stapleford and Sam believed the Doctor's good intent—until the real spy, his neighbor, Lord Trumpsworth, was revealed.

Notes:
Stapleford is one of a handful of characters who have seen the TARDIS interior without taking a trip in it or otherwise becoming a companion.
