Cargan
Real Name:
Search for 'Cargan' on Amazon

Bio:
Young graduate of the Time Lord Academy who made a test run in a TARDIS and ended up encountering Orton and the rest of the Minatorians. He was assisted by a robot sphere of Gallifreyan origin named "Orb".

Cargan perished when he attempted to interfere with the development of the Minatorian culture, after he discovered that one of their scientific projects, "the Great One", threatened to destroy the galaxy.

Though this sort of interference is something the Doctor does successfully on a daily basis, Cargan was, as Orb pointed out, violating the First Law of Time. He was rather easily stopped by Orton, who threw him up against the side of "the Great One".

Though the impact destroyed "the Great One", it was the ultimate pyrrhic victory. The resulting explosion destroyed Cargan's TARDIS, Orb, and himself. Despite being apparently early in his first incarnation, Cargan failed to regenerate after the traumatic event—perhaps because his TARDIS was destroyed just prior to his death.
