Topside (G.I. Joe)

Topside was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana and grew up on a farm where he and his father raised pigs that won numerous prizes at county fairs, gaining the reputation as Fort Wayne's Hog Master. At age 20, Topside looked for a more exciting career and joined the Navy.

While serving as deck hand on a ship transporting a G.I. Joe covert ops team to a mission, and grew tired of their tales of toughness. After he decided to take them all on, he gained the Joes' notice and was eventually offered a spot on the team. Topside served with the Joes for a short time before the team was disbanded in 1994.

Some time after the team was reinstated in 2001, Topside took part in the Joes' battle against a revived Serpentor on Cobra Island.
