Baron Grigori Russoff (Marvel)

Search for 'Baron Grigori Russoff (Marvel)' on Amazon

Bio:
The great, great, great-grandfather of Jack Russell (aka Werewolf by Night) and the first member of Jack's family to be cursed with lycanthropy. Russoff's wife was slain by Dracula after Dracula threatened demanded that Russoff bow to his power, and Russoff refused. Enraged, Russoff stormed into an unguarded Castle Dracula (as none in the village would ever dare step foot into the castle) and found Dracula's coffin while he slept. Russoff plunged his stake through Dracula's heart, turned him to ash and bones, and then sealed the coffin after lining it with garlic and threw it into Danube.

Consumed with rage, Russoff smashed his way through Dracula's castle, destroying everything he could. In a room, he came across Lydia Váradi who claimed she was a prisoner of Dracula's, taken hostage after he murdered her mother and father. Together Russoff and Lydia left the castle under a full moon back towards Russoff's residence. As they walked through the forest, Lydia transformed into a werewolf and attacked Russoff, sinking her teeth into his neck. Left alive, Russoff was cursed with lycanthropy.
