Highly agile. Excellent marksmanship. Able to easily adapt to his surroundings.

Normal human weaknesses.

Turok is a Native American hunter who, along with his friend Andar, followed prey into a cave, only to find themselves trapped in a "Lost Valley" (later the Lost Land). In this valley, all eras of time seemed to co-exist.

Spending much of his life trying to escape the Lost Valley, Turok eventually found renewed hope when the Lost Valley was visited by Magnus, Robot Fighter, who was able to leave the Lost Land. Following the destruction of the Lost Land in the Unity conflict, Turok was transported to present day South America, while Andar returned to the US circa 1890. Unfortunately for Turok, a race of bionosaur from the Lost Land also escaped, and he pledged himself to hunting these beasts.

Meeting with his friend Andar one final time, Turok agreed to take Andar's grandson Andy under his wing to teach him the way of the warrior, as Turok had taught Andar.

In original continuity, Turok was a pre-Columbian Native American, while in Valiant continuity, Turok was a post-Columbian Native American. All other aspects of the character remained the same and was intended to be the same character.
