Moth (Marvel)
Real Name:
Search for 'Moth (Marvel)' on Amazon

Powers:
The Moth had the superhuman ability to douse flame within her vicinity. This included depriving even superhuman foes (such as the Human Torch) of their powers altogether, causing them to become unconscious.

Bio:
Hired by a team of criminals, the Moth pretended to be a "damsel in distress" on the run from the men who were actually her partners, in order to lure the Human Torch into an ambush.

As the Torch approached her, she snuffed out his flame, causing him to black out. When he revived, she and her partners had placed him in an oxygen-depriving field to await the arrival of their boss along with the million dollars she had been promised. However, while the Moth was outside the room, the Torch overheard her "partners" talking, and learned they intended to kill her. He managed to set himself free, and tried to warn the Moth. She didn't believe him at first, but when the two men turned on her, she joined with the Torch in fighting them. She saved the Torch from their flame-killer machine, but took a bullet during the action. As she lay dying, she confessed to the Torch, "I should have realized it before...Moth shouldn't get too close to the flame...more than...one way...to get burned.."
