Lightning Lass (DC)(Earth-0)
Real Name: Ayla Ranzz

Like her twin brother, Lightning Lad, she had the power to generate electrical energy.

Twin sister to Lightning Lad and younger sister of the evil Lightning Lord, she began her life with the Legion of Superheroes under the cover of a lie. When Lightning Lad was thought to be dead after his encounter with Zaryan, she pretended to be him, resurrected. Her disguise was soon outed, but she had nevertheless proved herself useful enough to be worthy of continued membership.

After time (and probably significantly, the return of the true Lightning Lad), her powers were altered significantly by Dream Girl. Gone were her powers of electrical generation, replaced by the ability to cancel gravity. At this point, and for many years, she was known as "Light Lass". During this period, she was romantically involved with Timber Wolf.

When the relationship with Timber Wolf ended badly, she reassessed her life and left the Legion. For a time, she was simply "Ayla Ranzz". Then, in an encounter with her older brother when she had long resigned the Legion, she joined a battle with Lightning Lord, restoring her powers of electrical generation. She then became Lightning Lass again and rejoined the Legion. Back at Legion HQ again, she now found herself attracted to women, and became intensely involved with Shrinking Violet.
