Antoine D'Coolette

Powers:
Skilled swordsman

Weaknesses:
Although he has lost his craven cowardice and arrogance from the earliest issues, he still experiences moments of trepidation, and loses his handle of English under extreme duress.

Bio:
The son of a general of the Kingdom of Acorn, Antoine D'Coolette is one of the Knothole Freedom Fighters in their neverending struggles against Robotnik/Dr. Eggman. When the comic first ran, he often oscillated in attitude from timid to arrogant, and was jealous of Sonic the Hedgehog for his closeness to Princess Sally Acorn. He proved relatively inept an ineffectual, but in the lead-up to Operation EndGame (issues #47-50), he was saved from some perilous situations by Bunnie Rabbot. The two would kindle a relationship, and Antoine's confidence and skill would grow with time, as well as a change in attitude.

After Sonic's return from space in issue #130, he returned to a vastly different Antoine who had an inexplicable scar along one eye. He ended up dumping Bunnie and made advances on Princess Sally. This led to him and Sally marrying, but after the wedding it was revealed that this "Antoine" was a doppelganger from a parallel universe. The marriage was anulled. Eventually Sonic was able to banish the fake Antoine and bring back the real one, but not before the fake one, now known as Patch, had poisoned King Maximillian and Antoine's father.

The poisoning of Antoine's father proved fatal, and he expressed his pride in Antoine, and approval of his relationship with Bunnie, when he died in issue #168. The two became engaged in #173, and married in the next issue.

Antoine continued to give increased support to the Freedom Fighters, and played an important role in the battle with the Iron Queen. He was the primary fighter when Monkey Khan was taken control of by her in issue #203, particularly since Khan's lack of disclosure of the Iron Queen's abilities nearly got Bunnie killed.
