Lyla (DC)(Emperith)
Real Name: Lyla

Able to manipulate another being's thoughts and perceptions, as well as absorb their abilities.

The last surviving Emperith in the Bottle City of Kandor, Lyla manipulated Superman, whom Kandorians at this point worshiped as a God, into believing he was her husband. She created a psionic construct of a Kryptonian child, Kon-Lar, and set up a situation where Superman would accidentally "kill" him, making Superman emotionally vulnerable enough for her to steal his powers and leave Kandor for Metropolis, believing it was Heaven.

There, she began manipulating situations in Metropolis in an attempt to get its people to accept and worship her until Superman and the alien rebels she hired to attack him arrived to stop her.

However, Superman was followed by an insane Kandorian lawman, Preus, whom began to ravage Metropolis as Earth's yellow son gave him powers. Inspired by Superman's willingness to sacrifice himself for Metropolis, Lyla defeated Preus, returning him to Kandor, and left Earth for parts unknown.
