She's the aunt of April, May and June Duck, the daughters of her sister. She's also, through her brother, the aunt of Huey, Dewey and Louie Duck. So, in an odd little twist, she's the boys' aunt, Donald's the boys' uncle, but Donald and Daisy aren't married (or even, really, exclusively dating each other).

She's not usually listed as a member of the Clan McDuck, though certainly she's as close as you can get without being an "official" member of the family.

Though she has also appeared in cartoons, her first appearance anywhere was in the 4 November 1940 syndicated (North American) newspaper comic strip. It is interesting to note that there was a female love interest for Donald before her in the 1937 cartoon Don Donald, but her name was Donna. In comic books, it was later revealed that this very similar character was in fact her sister--and eventually the mother of April, May and June.
