Bio: Dahlia grew up in the Watts district of Los Angeles, spending her time singing in the streets for money. Her father disapproved, knowing she didn't have the voice to be a singer, but her mother, who was more than a bit over-indulging, saved money and sent her to The Academy of Music.
Living a deluded life, Dahlia joined a band as a back-up singer, believing herself to be their lead singer. They soon kicked her out of the band. Being diagnosed as diabetic by Dr. Daniel Ridge Sr., she ignored all medical advice on how to take care of herself. She blamed her instructors for trying to ruin her voice, and eventually, was kicked out of the Academy.
On a street corner, she met "Smiling Simon" Edwards, who after hearing her story, but not her singing voice, decided to give her a shot in his nightclub, and also hired a lawyer for her to sue Dr. Daniel Ridge Sr. for malpractice.
After hearing her voice, Edwards pulled her from the stage, and she accused him of using her. Here she met Attorney Jennifer Walters (She-Hulk) who was defending Dr. Daniel Ridge Sr. in the malpractice suit. After storming out angry at Walters, she is later confronted by her, where Walters forced her to see the truth. During this time, Edwards backed out of helping Dahlia sue Dr. Daniel Ridge Sr.
Later, Walters received a message on her answering machine from Dahlia who told her she was in the process of committing suicide after realizing Walters was right.
Turning into She-Hulk, she raced to save Dahlia and was able to get her to a hospital just in time for her life to be saved.
