Search for 'Thanatos (DC)' on Amazon

Thanatos was the name of a seemingly fictional monster used by a crime syndicate as a means to brainwash Aquaman and several other people, and turn them into criminal zombies. Years later, it was revealed that Thanatos was in fact the quite real, extra-dimensional villain responsible for the brainwashing, Dressed in Aquaman's old blue costume, Thanatos returned and menaced Aquaman in his dreams. Still later, it was revealed that Thanatos was behind the abduction and brainwashing of Aquaman's wife Mera. After a last battle with Aquaman, Thanatos fled the scene, only to be killed by the Neron-powered super-villain Major Disaster, who believed Thanatos to be Aquaman.
