Bat-Girl (DC)(0.5 - Betty Kane)(Pre Crisis)
Real Name: Betty Kane
Search for 'Bat-Girl (DC)(0.5 - Betty Kane)(Pre Crisis)' on Amazon

Bio:
Niece to Kathy Kane, Batwoman. Ostensibly the romantic pairing for Robin, as Batwoman was for Batman.

Notes:
Most often her name was written "Bat-Girl".

Interesting mainly because she was explicitly added to the Bat-Family so as to disprove charges of homosexuality circling the Batcave in the 1940s. Her role, like that of her modern age counterpart (Flamebird III), was to provide romantic attention for Robin. But if her goal was to prove that Robin wasn't the boy sex-slave of Batman, why was she portrayed as such an annoying female that a reasonable person of any persuasion wouldn't have taken to her?

First Appearance: Batman (1940) #139
