Dorothy Spinner Search for 'Dorothy Spinner' on eBay Powers: Her subconscious can bring creatures to life from her thoughts. Her power waxes and wanes in relation to her menstrual cycle. Bio: Dorothy Spinner was brought up on a farm in Kansas, where her parents kept her inside her house because of her apelike appearance. Her parents were too busy with farm chores to educate her, so she learned to read and write from imaginary friends, who eventually annoyed her so much that she shot them with an imaginary gun. When a Lord of Chaos formed a tornado and swept the Doom Patrol from their Kansas City headquarters to her family's farm, Dorothy was caught in the tornado. She found some white stones that proved to be the Chaos Lord's weakness. She was declared an honorary member of the Doom Patrol, but was not seen again until Arani Desai's funeral, when the gene bomb went off. The gene bomb unleashed superhuman mental powers that allowed her thoughts to become reality, so The Chief invited her to come to Rhode Island, where the Doom Patrol relocated in a former Justice League facility. there, her powers were briefly enhanced, bringing the imaginary friends back to life, by the Materioptkion of Dr. John Dee, which had been in the sub-basement ever since the Sandman helped the JLA to defeat him, until Joshua Clay smashed it.
