Powers: Chondu possesses the ability to manipulate the forces of magic for a limited number of effects including interdimensional travel and the casting of minor spells. He is also able to cast illusions and hover in the air. In his monster form, Chondu's physical attributes are all enhanced.
Bio: In his original human form, and his monster form, Chondu has a long history of ill will towards The Defenders, fighting them on many occasions alongside The Headmen. Chondu lost his sanity at one point after his mind was transplanted into the body of Nighthawk II, and then mind transferred by Doctor Strange into the body of a fawn, and then mind transferred into his 'monster' body.
At one point, with The Headmen, hired Ringmaster's Circus of Crime to capture the She-Hulk as they planned to test her strength to see if her body would be a suitable replacement for Chondu's current 'monster' body. They thought that a new body may help Chondu stabalize his sanity. After the Circus of Crime decided to use She-Hulk for their own purposes, The Headmen freed She-Hulk from their control and hired Mysterio to capture She-Hulk.
Knowing they were going to pay Mysterio with counterfeit money, Nagan of The Headmen developed a piece of equipment that would interact with Spider-Man's spider sense and lead him to Mysterio in the hopes Spider-Man would kill Mysterio before Mysterio could try to gain revenge. Mysterio was able to capture She-Hulk, and The Headmen were able to clone her body.
Spider-Man attacked Mysterio as planned, but found out where The Headmen were. He busted in on the Headmen and was able to evade all attacks until the clone body subdued him.
The Headmen then placed Chondu's head on the body of the clone, and when Chondu realized what his teammates had done, became infuriated and started attacking them. During the fight, Spider-Man knocked Chondu's head off the clone. The Headmen tried to escape, but She-Hulk and Spider-Man were able to defeat the team.
Soon after, Chondu insisted that he have Spider-Man's body for his own. He was defeated along with The Headmen by Spider-Man and The Human Torch.
After these events, Chondu, along with The Headmen once again struck up their long standing animosity towards The Defenders and the two teams clashed once again. Nighthawk was able to defeat The Headmen on this occasion.
