Bio: Windy was a childhood friend of Luke Skywalker and Biggs Darklighter on Tatooine. It is unclear whether he, like Biggs, made it off Tatooine and into the Rebel fleet.
Notes: Windy's history is a long and torturous one, especially for a character that almost no one knows today. He went through several permutations in the first few drafts of what would eventually be known as A New Hope. He was, variously, "Mace Windy" (eventually resurrected as Mace Windu for the prequel trilogies), one of Leia's two twin brothers, and, finally, just a Tatooine chum of Luke Skywalker. The details of the character's transformation won't be given here. Suffice it to say that the final character with the name "Windy", eventually deleted from the completed Episode IV, was a part of the shooting script, and his scene was apparently filmed. It is believed by some fans that this scene may eventually make it into some future boxed set DVD of the entire saga. Until then, the only hint of his existence is a discussion between Uncle Owen and Luke at the Jawa sandcrawler. Owen refers to Windy with the line, "You can waste your time with your friends later". Windy was one of those friends, waiting for Luke at Toshi Station, home to those infamous power converters Luke would never get
Windy did, however, appear in the radio dramatization of "A New Hope".
