Powers:
Reed can transform at will into the Brute, who possesses an 8-9' tall form with vast strength (variable from Class 75-100) and durability. In addition, he retains the brilliant genius and much of the knowledge of Reed Richards.
At one point he proved able to absorb geothermal energy from the Earth's core, increasing his own power. In such from, he could also fire energy blasts.

Bio:
In the late 20th Century, the High Evolutionary, a geneticist, created a planet in the exact opposite orbit as Earth. He named it Counter-Earth and it would have been a paradise, were it not for one of the Evolutionary's other creations, the Man-Beast. On Counter-Earth, the fabled adventure to the stars that should have created the Fantastic Four gave only that planet's Reed Richards superhuman abilities like the real Earth's Thing. The Brute not only has superhuman strength and limited energy-based powers, he also is innately evil, his madness due to the loss of his fiancee Susan Storm. After being marooned in the Negative Zone for years, he emerged on the New Universe Earth, waging a war that eventually led to his being named Emperor. Over the years since his reign began, he has experimented to increase his powers and is perhaps more powerful now than ever before.
