Father Tocsin
Real Name: Esau Tocsin
Search for 'Father Tocsin' on Amazon

Bio:
1933-1991. A mad preacher, Esau Tocsin claimed that he was told by an angel to profess the Gospel. Based on a passage in the longer ending of the book of Mark saying that true believers can consume poison without harm and take up serpents, Tocsin (whose prophetic-sounding name actually means alarm) fed people strychnine at his revivals, and all died.

He was accompanied by a pet rattlesnake named Lazarus.

When forced to drink strychnine himself, his dying belief was that he had failed God by not believing.

Esau Tocsin was buried in Terrebonne Parish Cemetery, where his corpse was revived by Anton Arcane. Tocsin attempted to pierce Abby Holland's right eye with his fingernail, but was stopped by Augustine "Ya-Ya" Dupin.
