The Combine
Real Name: Illyich Prokvitch & Strokov
Search for 'The Combine' on Amazon

Powers:
The Combine possesses the ability to absorb all energies and release them in blasts of energy. It can also teleport and create force fields.

Bio:
The Combine is made up of two individuals, Illyich Prokvitch & Strokov, two members of the Russian terrorist group The Peace Corpse.

Illyich Prokvitch: General-Major Illyich Prokvitch was a childhood of Josef Petkus, who later became the Red Guardian. He was married to a woman named Anna, and had more than one child (only his daughter Oskana was mentioned by name). Prokvitch conceived of the plot to lead the Peace Corpse in stealing the Waterwind in the hopes of starting a new world war in order to revive Russia's economy. After the warheads were detonated, Prokvitch was merged with Strokov into the entity Combine, and attempted to release the radiation absorbed by Alpha Flight, the People's Protectorate, the Avengers, Atlanteans, and people of St. John's in order to meet his original goals, but the rest of the Peace Corpse joined the Combine, and asserted their will over his.

Strokov: Strokov was Prokvitch's right hand man in the Peace Corpse, and believed in their mission even more strongly than Prokvitch, and attempted to force Prokvitch to carry out their threat of nuclear detonation. After the warheads were detonated, Strokov was merged with Prokvitch into the entity Combine, and attempted to release the radiation absorbed by Alpha Flight, the People's Protectorate, the Avengers, Atlanteans, and people of St. John's in order to meet his original goals, but the rest of the Peace Corpse joined the Combine, and asserted their will over his.

The Combine: The Combine was created from the merging of Strokov and Illyich Prokvitch, two members of the Peace Corpse, a terrorist group which had attempted to launch nuclear war by activating the nuclear warheads of a British submarine. As the Combine, Strokov and Prokvitch were determined to complete their task. Finding that the Avengers, Alpha Flight, People's Protectorate, and Atlanteans who had opposed them were now in another dimension and could not return to Earth without causing a nuclear explosion, the Combine was determined to force them back to Earth.

The heroes joined forces against the Combine, and although they could not harm it, they forced it to waste energies fighting them, forcing the Combine to begin absorbing the radiation from their bodies into to repower itself. Ultimately, the four remaining members of the Peace Corpse, repenting their actions, merged with the Combine, and used their collective willpower to assert control over the Combine, and made it realize that mutual cooperation was the only hope for the future, not further war and strife. The Combine then set off to explore the multiverse, and charged the heroes to keep watch over Earth.
