Bio:
Secretly in love with his Raptor pilot, Agathon and Valerii were on patrol at the time of the Cylon attack on Caprica. They immediately attempted to return to Galactica when the alarm sounded, but were shot down. Planetside, they effected repairs on their Raptor and attempted to leave. But they were then besieged by ordinary citizens trying to flee the attack. To allow more civilians to escape, he volunteered his seat to Gaius Baltar, thinking Baltar would be of greater assistance to the Fleet than he would.

Helo then lived for months on Cylon-occupied Caprica, trying to stay one step ahead of the Cylons. He eventually met up with Boomer again, who claimed to have been unsuccessful in getting back to Galactica. A romantic relationship ensued, lasting the whole of the televised first season.

In the end, though, he discovered that "his" Boomer was a Cylon. Though confusing at first, he nevertheless continued his relationship with the Cylon Boomer, eventually producing a child, Hera, once the two made it back to Galactica.

While he basically understands his duty when it comes to Sharon, Helo has been brought into conflict with members of the Colonial Fleet on various occasions, when he is ordered to do something which puts Boomer or his child into personal jeopardy.

Making all this more confusing for Agathon is the fact that his Boomer appears to be a different, and more Colonial-friendly, form of Cylon.

Notes:
The character was not intended to survive the miniseries, but as Ronald D. Moore pondered possible plots, he wondered about what had happened to the pilot he left stranded on Caprica. This eventually opened a doorway through which a massive part of the current narrative could enter.
