Unaware that her host was actually a child of the Asgardian god, Loki, Morwen warned Spider-Man he could accept her gratitude or die, but Spider-Man worked with Loki to free his daughter without driving her mad in the process. While Spider-Man distracted Morwen, Loki telepathically encouraged Tess to fight back. Morwen was driven back into exile, Tess' memories were erased, and Loki departed indebted to Spider-Man.
