Orihime can clearly perceive ghosts and spiritual beings.

Orihime's main power is Shun Shun Rikka. Shun Shun Rikka manifests as six small beings (Hinagiku, Baigon, Lily, Shunou, Ayame, and Tsubaki) that project three different shields.
  • Santen Katsuhun is a protective shield formed by Hinagiku, Baigon, and Lily.
  • Souten Kishun is formed by Shunou and Ayame and allows Orihime to heal her friends. This power is not actual healing, but rather reversal of cause and effect.
  • Koten Zanshun, formed by Tsubaki, allows Orihime to attack her foes by slicing them.

Orihime was raised by her brother, Kakei, who was very protective of her growing up. Their parents were abusive, so Kakei left when he turned 18 and took Orihime, aged 3, with him. Unfortunately, Kakei died in a car accident three years prior to the beginning of the Bleach story, leaving Orihime on her own.
