Kur was a servant of The Sphinx who continually plotted to overthrow his master and gain ultimate power for himself. He waited and bided his time until he felt it was the right moment to strike while The Sphinx was engaged in battle against Nova, Condor, Powerhouse and Diamondhead. While Condor and Sphinx were battling, Kur picked up a weapon that he planned to blast the Sphinx with that would've left him a mindless husk. Instead, while Condor was about to attack The Sphinx, he got in the way of the blast. Kur initially explained to The Sphinx that he was only trying to help him, his master, defeat his foes, and for a moment The Sphinx let him believe that he had been fooled. Later, he revealed to Kur that he knew he tried to betray him, and using the power of the Ka Stone, Sphinx made Kur believe that he had been sent to hell, telling him that if he survived one month in the deepest darkest pit of hell, he could come back serve him again. In reality, he only made Kur believe that he had been sent to hell and it was all in his own mind. Kur has not been seen since this incident and whether or not he survived his own mind's hell like The Sphinx figured he would is in question.
