Rol - Nac (Earth-1)

Search for 'Rol - Nac (Earth-1)' on Amazon

Bio:
Despite the apparently Kryptonian name, Rol-Nac was a "space wanderer, outcast from his own world because he opposed its tyrannical rulers". He used his one-man craft to save a pregnant Lara and Jor-El II from destruction. During one of their initial test runs of the craft that would eventually carry Kal-El to Earth, the ship's guidance controls went haywire, and sent it hurtling back towards the launch pad in the El's home. Before it could crash, Rol-Nac used his ship's meteor repeller, deflecting it away from the El's home.
In gratitude, the Els sheltered him for a period of time and made him the godfather of their unborn child. During the christening ceremony, he gave the child the name the Els chose "Kal-El", which literally translates to "Star Child".

Notes:
In the final panel we are told we will "be seeing more of Rol-Nac... very soon!" He would appear once more ... 10 years later, in 1979.
