Bio: In the late 1770s, Victoria Adams was a soldier during the American Revolution. After she was captured by the British army, she was delivered to a mysterious society called the Burning Hand.
Whenever the United States engaged in a major war, Victoria always appeared to aid her country in battle. Her bravery across the centuries fostered a legend of The Shield that inspired Joe Higgins father to conduct experiments.
When Victoria appeared in the 21st century, she helped capsize the Black Seven organization. Afterward, she was hired by Higgins, director of M.L.J., to lead the Mighty Crusaders.
Notes: Although Joe Higgins was the first Shield to appear in publication, Victoria Adams, although the fourth Shield to appear in publication, is actually the first Shield in continuity.
