Dr. John Storm

Bio:
Dr. John Storm was a brilliant scientist who basically worked in reclusion at his secluded cabin in the catskills. One night, randomly, an escaped gorilla came in out of the rain and interrupted his secret scientific research. The ape attacked, but Dr. Storm had a faithful dog, Rex, who leapt to his defense. Something happened to Rex as he attacked and his head began to glow and changed into a skull like appearance. Rex managed to kill the ape, but was also killed in the process. Storm found the transformation of his beloved pet incredible, and being the scientist he was, withdrew fluids from Rex.

At the same time this was all happening (his reclusive cabin became much less reclusive this night), Laslo Pevely was travelling past the cabin as his car was struck by lightning and caused an accident. He stumbled to Storm's doorstep and passed out, stricken with amnesia. Storm, using the justification that Pevely had amnesia, injected him with the serum he had created from the fluid he withdrew from Rex.

As THIS was happening, Storm was visited by two gangsters, who had come to force him to use his scientific expertise to benefit their criminal empire. Storm refused and the gangsters beat him mercilessly. Pevely woke up as the gangsters were beating Storm, and enraged at the sight of what was happening and thanks to the injection of the serum, transformed into a monstrous person that one of the gangsters called "Terror", and the name stuck. Terror chased down the gangsters and killed them. It was later revealed that Pevely's transformations were actually triggered when he was in the presence of evil, and much like a dog, could sense this evil.

Pevely reverted to normal and returned to Dr. Storm's side. Before dying from his injuries, Storm left his resources to Pevely and implored him to use his newfound powers to fight evil. Pevely agreed to carry on and fight evil as Terror.

Notes:
Dr. John Storm's entire origin was recounted by Terror (Laslo Pevely) in his extreme old age to The Critic. A cosmic being who needed Pevely to help She-Hulk and Howard the Duck stop the destruction of the world. As the origin was retold, it had some variances as to the actual events that occurred Mystic Comics #5, Dr. John Storm's only previous appearance before appearing in flashback during this time.
