Hecate (Marvel)(01 - Demon-Steed)
Real Name:
Search for 'Hecate (Marvel)(01 - Demon-Steed)' on Amazon

Hecate, being a demon bound into equine form, is carnivorous, eating flesh and magically transforming it into energy to power it's demonic form. Hecate, as well as other Demon-Steeds, are unlimited by the needs of any regular horse, such as warmth or breathing and is resistant to non-magical inflicted injuries. Hecate is able to travel through air, on land, through water or even in space as well as traverse dimensional borders (generally only through a pre-existing portal however).

Hecate possesses what could be considered superhuman strength, speed and durability, although the upper limits of these traits were never discovered. Hecate has clawed two toed feet rather than hooves and possesses an incredibly strong and thick demon tail.

Demon-Steeds are able to coat themselves with Hellfire, are able to burn objects as they normally would by regular fire, cause spiritual pain and disrupt magical forces. Hellstrom presumably can transform Hecate and the other Demon-Steeds into other forms, but has a fondness for the movie Ben-Hur, so prefers the forms of a chariot and steeds.

Hecate was a demon bound into equine form by Satan, who possessed the Satanic Trident which commanded Hecate and the other Demon-Steeds. Daimon Hellstrom, rebelling against his father Satan, managed to steal the Satanic Trident from hell and therefore took control over Hecate and the other Demon-Steeds. He first summoned them in hell itself as a means to escape his father who was trying to kill him at the time. He used Hecate and the Deomn-Steeds variously over the years for transportation for himself and his fellow Defenders or random passengers.

When Daimon tried to help a trio of damned souls escape hell and gain entrance into heaven, he summoned Hecate and his Demon-Steeds and took them through the only path he could: straight through hell itself. As they crossed through hell, they were brutally assaulted by hordes of demons sent by Hellstrom father Satan. Although Hellstrom was able to save the trio of souls, Hecate as well as Amon and Set fell before the savage assault of the demons.

Hecate was specifically distinguished as the Demon-Steed with black hair in Marvel Pets Handbook (2009) - #1
