Bio: Congo Bill's sidekick. Whom else did you think a guy named "Janu the Jungle Boy" would pal around with? His main job, after the coming of Congorilla, was to keep Congo Bill's human body protected while Bill's brain was transferred into that of the Golden Gorilla. After all, someone had to watch over the human with the gorilla brain. Unsurprisingly for a sidekick with that kind of job in what were, in fact, mere backup stories, not that much is known about Janu. We know from his introduction in Action #191 that he was the son of a jungle guide who had been tragically killed. This led him to a Tarzan-esque life in the wild. Eventually he met Congo BIll, with whom he began travelling. After a time, he left Congo BIll for formal education in America. When he later returned to Africa, he convinced Congo Bill that Africa's destiny was industrialization. The two became business partners and built a successful conglomerate.
Bill eventually came to see this life as a betrayal of his former life. So he rejected Janu's new philosophy, packed in the corporate life, and returned to adventuring as Congorilla.
