Natasha's current armor boosts her strength to super-human levels. Rockets in her boots allow her to fly. Through some as yet unknown method, her armor can grow to heights of up to 60 feet. Her armor is equipped with energy weapons and projectile weaponry, but her biggest weapon is her hammer. This tool has 'inertial dampners' which cause the force of the hammer to increase exponentially over the distance traveled when thrown (basically the farther it is thrown, the harder it hits), and can fire electromagnetic pulses, and generate powerful electric and magnetic fields at Natasha's command. When Natasha places her hammer on the ground, it connects with the earth's magnetic field, and cannot be moved exept by Natasha or someone with similar DNA, such as her uncle John Henry Irons.

Bio
|
Natasha Irons was a brilliant young woman who learned that her uncle John Henry Irons was actually the hero known as Steel. She quickly became his helper, since she was as good with technology as he was.
When John became trapped by the Entropy Aegis of Darkseid, Natasha designed a suit of armor which uitilized the Aegis's power, teleported to Apokolips, and fought Doomsday to a standstill to rescue him, with the help of Team Superman. John was too injured to carry on as Steel, and Natasha began to pack away his equipment. She stumbled across one of his high-tech hammers, and upon picking it up, the hammer activated, saying "Its Hammer Time!". Apparently, John had made a new suit of armor (patterned after his "Steel" armor) for Natasha to use, an armor more advanced than any he himself had ever worn. When she heard that Superman had been injured by a ghostly ninja, she donned the armor, and became the new Steel.
In 52 #1, Natasha abandoned her duties rebuilding a destroyed city, to attend a meeting of the Teen Titans (of which she was a new member). Her uncle John Henry Irons reprimanded her, and she said it was her armor and her life. John said she hadn't earned her armor and remotely deactivated it. He said that if she still wants it, she can prove it by rebuilding the suit.
