2012-05-24 15:49:51 aaronmoish Bio Re-imagined version of the character, created by Ann Nocenti and Sean Phillips. Not the Morrison version, and not the "brother of Captain Marvel, Jr." version originally envisioned by DC. The DC version closest to the Quality original.

Was killed by Mordru in JSA (1999) #1, but then clearly came back to life in 2006's Teen Titans #31, thanks to Brother Blood mucking about with the line between death and life.

2012-05-24 15:49:51 aaronmoish Notes As he appeared principally in his own Vertigo series, he's not really a part of the mainstream DCU. However, he has briefly, and fairly inexplicably, appeared in the DCU at moments of what might be called "cosmic stress". Although Grant Morrison and Ann Nocenti interpreted this character differently, he is clearly intended to be the same post-Crisis character, as evidenced by the supporting cast from Morrison's series (Jerry Sullivan and Val Hoffman) appearing in Nocenti's.
