Matthew and Luke are conjoined twins at the head who also happen to be mutants with an EMP heart. The two are basically good people but were driven to attempt to rob a bank when they were desparate for money in order to pay for, their sister, Alice's operation to help her fight cancer.
However, when they attempted to rob the bank, Professor X was inside it and managed to coordinate the hostages into fighting back and escaping. He persuaded Syndicate to help him with a scheme to force the Hellfire Club to release the assets that they've seized. It is presumed that their mission was a success and is on tap for other black ops missions.
