2010-02-11 03:09:18 Merrik Bio Sleipnir is an eight-legged Asgardian horse. In an odd origin, Slepnir's mother, is actually Loki, the Asgardian god of mischief (yes, mother, not father). A very long time ago, Loki convinced Odin to wager the goddess Freya into a bet that an itinerant stonemason couldn't rebuild Asgard's walls in a set time period. To ensure Odin would win the bet, Loki, who had at this point noticed that the mason's horse did most of the work and heavy hauling, took the form of a young mare, and lured the stallion away... ensuring that the work would not be completed on time. When Loki returned, he brought back with him Sleipnir, the eight-legged colt, and gave it to Odin. Over the years, Odin has relied on Sleipnir for travel to and fromt the realms of other pantheons and dimensions. Sleipnir is an eight-legged Asgardian horse.
