Date User Field Old Value New Value
2008-12-10 03:54:09 Merrik Powers Hate-Monger could instill irrational and extreme feelings of hatred in those who listened to his words or came into physical contact with him. His powers were amplified by the Psycho-Manís emotion-controlling technology. He was a shape-changer and a gifted public speaker.
2008-12-10 03:54:09 Merrik Bio Created by the Psycho-Man as part of a plot to destroy the Fantastic Four, the Hate-Monger was brought to Earth, where he assumed the form of Dr. H.M. Unger. As Unger, he spoke at rallies where he instilled hatred in his audience for those of a different race, religion, gender and even age. Using other physical forms, he did the same until New York City brimmed with violence. During a riot at the former location of the Fantastic Fourís headquarters, the Baxter Building, Hate-Monger posed as Mr. Fantastic (Reed Richards) to get close to the Invisible Girl (Susan Richards). Using his powers combined with the Psycho-Manís, Hate-Monger transformed the Invisible Girl into the evil Malice, who was sent to destroy her teammates while New York City burned as rioting continued. Reed used reverse psychology on Malice, causing her to revert to her true self. The heroes sought out the Hate-Monger, who tried to use civilians still under his control to protect him. Realizing the plan had failed Psycho-Man returned to the Negative Zone, leaving Hate-Monger to be captured by the Fantastic Four. As he pleaded for mercy from them, a member of the vigilante Scourge of the Underworld organization shot him, and Hate-Monger melted into a puddle of protoplasmic material. Creation of Psycho-Man, utilized in attempt to destroy Manhattan with hatred, destroyed by Scourge of the Underworld.
