2009-04-14 22:16:37 bjmorga Bio The Spirit was born Denny Colt, a criminologist who grew up in Central City (in reality New York), and who while pursuing Dr. Cobra, an criminal genius with a plan to contaminate the Cetntral City water supply, fell into a puddle of the fluid Dr. Cobra had planned to dump into the water supply and apparently died. However, the fluid in question did not kill Denny Colt; it merely placed him in suspended animation. Upon awakening in his grave in Wildwood Cemetery, Denny donned a blue mask and gloves and opted to continue fighting crime as The Spirit.
