Ruth A. Roche, sometimes credited as R. A. Roche, was one of the early female pioneers in American comic books. Among general writing duties for a number of sequences in Golden Age anthologies, she was also the day-to-day editor on a number of books. As such, she oversaw the introductoin and early histories of a number of female characters. She was perhaps most directly involved with the Fox Comics run of Phantom Lady—one of the few Golden Age titles that generally didn't use the talent of white males..
