Bio:
Edmund Marion Ashe, Jr., better known as Edd Ashe, had a long career in graphic and plastic art as a realistic illustrator, although he is hardly known by the big public. His father, E. M. Ashe, was a renowned illustator (until the early years of the Twentieth Century) and then a fine artist. He was also the head of the art department of Carnegie Tech (now Carnegie-Mellon) in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

From time to time mural painter, advertising illustrator and comic artist, Edd Ashe collaborated on the periodical Pep Comics with series like 'The Human Torch' and 'Ted Towers'. He also made comic adaptations of 'The Saint' and private investigator 'Mike Shayne'. Most notable was his version of the series 'Don Winslow of the Navy', which he drew from 1943 for Fawcett Publications.
