Edward Pereira is the author of ten screenplays; five of them have placed in four prestigious screenwriting contents: Nichol Fellowship in Screenwriting Semi-Finalist, Chesterfield Film Project Semi-Finalist, Second Rounder Austin Film Festival, and Screenwriting Expo Semi-Finalist (for two individual scripts.) One of his screenplays has been optioned by Carlos Avila, the director of the film Price of Glory, staring Jimmy Smits.
In terms of his comic book work, Pereira has developed Sword and Paper, the story of an infamous samurai mercenary with his own unique viewpoint of what “honor” really means. He’s also crafted the dust-bowl western Big Iron where we meet the residents of New Texas, and the lengths that a captured town of 5,000 will go to escape. Edward is a prior student of both Dennis O’Neil’s and Danny Fingeroth’s comics writing classes taught at NYU.
Along with his ongoing comic work, Edward is currently polishing two scripts that are under consideration by two film production studios. He works in corporate communications and among his many duties writes speeches for executives and is currently producing a series of twelve corporate employee videos.
