nce upon a time, (all good tales start this way...at least ancient ones!), somewhere in recent history...(almost an Irish myth now), William Simpson, having had a wickedly difficult time attempting to become a storytelling artist, finally made a decision to leave Ryvita and cheese aside, and picked up a copy of British Marvel's, Daredevils comic, a wonderful reprint title, and much more beneficial than food. Inside, unbeknownst to him, was a review of a fan mag, Ximoc, where his first printed comic work had been included, and luckily enough, he read the review section for the first time in his life!
A gentile glow of praise was heaped upon his work, which was responsible for a bombardment of artwork to British Marvel, and after the phone tutilege of the artist David Lloyd, responsible for V for Vendetta, the younger William was finally employed by the fascinating Warrior magazine for Quality Comics....and the rest became history.
He has worked on such notable creations as Transfomers for Marvel Comics, Judge Dredd, Rogue Trooper and Tyranny Rex, for 2000AD, Aliens for Dark Horse Comics, and (John Constantine) Hellblazer, Vamps and Batman, for DC Comics, illustrated books, and immersed himself in his newer world of film and animation.
His recent employers have been, Neil Jordan, Pete Townshend and Richard Attenborough! Not bad indeed!
