Bio:
Greg Hildebrandt Jr. grew up in a fantasy household; his father and uncle, known as the Brothers Hildebrandt, were the creators of the original 1977 Star Wars poster and the illustrators for several J.R.R. Tolkien Lord of the Rings calendars, the Clash of the Titans movie poster and numerous other iconic images. After graduating college and obtaining several years of corporate experience, Greg made his shift into the entertainment field. His first projects included the Hallmark Channel’s production of Hamlet, directed by and starring Campbell Scott; working with producer Jim Chory on 20th Century Fox’s production of Someone Like You, starring Hugh Jackman, Ashley Judd, and Marisa Tomei; assisting on Into the Woods production of Wet Hot American Summer, starring Janeane Garofalo as well as a stint as personal assistant to David Milch, the creator of the HBO acclaimed series Deadwood and NYPD Blue. In a Single Bound, a documentary on Superman that he worked on with his production partner, Ross Marroso, had an acclaimed world premier at the New York City Tribeca film festival. He is currently working with Patrick Walsh of Walsh Family Media on The Cool Beans, an animated kids feature.
Greg is also a screenwriter and author, having written Greg and Tim Hildebrandt: The Tolkien Years; published by Watson-Gupthill, The Emerald Seven, as it appeared in the Frank Frazetta Fantasy Illustrated and The War on Flesh, co-written with Justin Boring published by Tokyo Pop. Greg is currently working on The Realm of the Rodent, a fantasy novel described as “Lord of the Rings with Rats and Mice” that is being published with Jabberwocky, a new division of Sourcebooks.
