Bio:
Glenn Herdling, a graduate of Bucknell University with a B.A. in English and Psychology, began his publishing career in 1987 at Marvel Comics. As assistant editor on Marvel’s flagship Spider-Man titles, he was instrumental in increasing circulation to a record 3 million. Glenn was promoted to Editorial Director of Marvel’s Custom Publishing division where, in addition to writing and editing Beavis & Butt-Head, he served as an account executive and designed the company’s first award-winning Annual Reports. Glenn also spent 2 years in Marvel’s production department where he managed the production of over 20 monthly titles.
In 1996, Glenn became the Creative Director at Unicorn Publishing, which engaged in traditional book publishing, packaging, and design. The company also represented artists on an exclusive basis, particularly the renowned fantasy painters, Greg and Tim Hildebrandt. Glenn’s connections to the world of art and publishing grew extensively as a result of this endeavor.
Glenn was later hired by a medical publisher, Montage Media, as the Managing Editor for its peer-reviewed dental journals. In 1999, he became Wizard Entertainment’s Manager of Business Development and supervised the launch of its new comic book division, Black Bull Entertainment. Glenn is currently the Director of Marketing Communications at Medco, a former Merck company. He has written four published books and over 80 comic books. In May 2005, Glenn received a Masters of Science Degree in Publishing from New York University where he was awarded the The Condé Nast Award in Magazine Publishing.
