Nick Marinkovich is a Canadian illustrator, graphic novelist and multi-media artist. He has worked for IDW, Devils Due and Marvel, as well as releasing his own titles under Image and Pop Sandbox.
Marinkovich studied science at the University of Western Ontario, graduating with an Honours BSc. in Genetics in 2000.
A self-taught artist, he broke into comics work in 2004 illustrating the graphic novel adaptation to the Sony Pictures film Underworld. He continued work in the franchise with the follow-up miniseries, Underworld – Red in Tooth and Claw, released by IDW publishing the following year.
From 2005 through to 2008, he worked on the series’ Impaler and Nightwolf, as well as the Marvel webcomic When The Hulk Attacks.
In 2010 Marinkovich released the critically acclaimed graphic novel Kenk: A Graphic Portrait, a biography on the notorious Toronto bicycle thief, Igor Kenk, who rose to notoriety in 2008 with his arrest and the largest police seizure of stolen bicycles in history. Kenk was the top selling literary graphic novel of 2010 in Canada. His work in Kenk was featured prominently at the 2010 NYC Bicycle Film Fest as well as the 2010 Ottawa Animation Festival, and exhibited in Galleries in both NYC and Toronto.
In 2012 Marinkovich began work on the historical adventure saga, The Voyageur, in collaboration with screenwriter Jeff Sturge. The Voyageur is set for release in 2015 through Guernica Editions.
