Sabine is a graduate of the 2017 Publishing Certificate Program for comics at the Independent Publishing Resource Center in Portland, OR. Her final project for the program, Reverse Flaneur, was nominated for a 2017 Ignatz Award for Outstanding Self-Published Mini Comic.
Her comic on blindness and classroom practices, "Empathy Exercise" was presented as a lightning talk at the 2017 Comics & Medicine conference in Seattle, WA.
In 2016 she received a Small Project Grant from the Regional Arts and Culture Council of Portland to produce a series of comics about riding public transit while disabled. Her writing has appeared in Bitch Media and her academic work on pornography for the blind was featured at the 2015 Society for Disability Studies conference in Atlanta, GA as well as the Pacific and Western Disability Studies Symposium in Seattle, WA.
