Bio:
Bill Woggon, brother of Elmer Woggon, was the creator of the 'Katy Keene' comic. Debuting in Wilbur Comics in 1945, 'Katy Keene' was the fashion queen of comics at the time. Notable about Woggon's comic was that it encouraged fans to send in their designs, which Katy would wear in a subsequent story (and the designer was even credited!). All through the 1950s, Katy appeared not just in her own book, but also in the back pages of Laugh and Pep Comics, giant comics like Katy Keene Pinup Parade, and occasional issues of Archie Giant Series Magazine. The series run ended in 1961, when the public's interest moved over to superheros again. Woggon went to work on 'Millie the Lovable Monster' for Dell. A revival of 'Katy Keene' comics occurred in the 1980s, with reprints of Woggon's stories, as well as new stories illustrated by Dan DeCarlo and John Lucas.
