At 17 years of age, Trevor Von Eeden was the youngest, and first dark-skinned artist to be hired by DC Comics in 1977. He designed the costume and drew the debut series of DC Comics' first black super-hero, Black Lightning. In the early '80s, he achieved industry-wide recognition for his Artwork in such DC titles as The Batman Annual #8, The Green Arrow Mini-series, and one of the most unusual and original series in comics history, THRILLER. During that time, he also worked for Marvel Comics on PowerMan and Iron Fist #56-59, Spider-Woman, and Marvel Fanfare comics. He's also well known for his Artwork in the '90s for the Black Canary 4-part mini-series,the Black Canary regular series, and for various Batman titles. His last published work for DC Comics was in 2001, the 5 part story in Legend Of The Dark Knight #149-153. Von Eeden has also done work for various other companies such as Red Circle Comics, Milestone Comics, and Moonstone Comics. His latest published work is the self-written and drawn graphic novel, The Original Johnson, a biography of the great Jack Johnson, the first black heavyweight champion of the world. Vol. 1 was released in 2009, and Vol. 2 in 2011. At present, he is drawing and inking the covers and interior Art for a 4part series called Stalker for an independent publisher, Gateway Comics, which is set to be released early in 2012.
