2007-06-14 16:56:27 melkoloran Bio Started shortly after the birth of his first child in 1991, fine artist Joe Chiappetta began his career as Silly Daddy, a mostly autobiographical comic series centered around his experience (and lack thereof) as a father. Since Joe is a resident of the Chicago suburbs, most of the Silly Daddy adventures take place in the Chicago area. Major themes in this eclectic series include (in no particular order) parenting, family relationships, goofing off, the search for meaning in life and redemption. The print comic version and the webcomic have elements of humor and surrealism. 1998 Xeric Award Winner 1998 Ignatz Award Nominee for Outstanding Artist 1997 Ignatz Award Nominee for Outstanding Story 1996 Harvey Award Nominee for Best New Series
