another thing to do: wander around mycomicshop.com for comics to buy and then add to comicbookDb.

such as: title: Lionheart (1990 , publisher: Prophesy)
https://www.mycomicshop.com/search?TID=653901

  7. Under a Slowly Spinning Sun, published by Aporia Press
  8. Devil Bunny and the Perfect Turkey, published by Ernest Graphics
  9. How the Elephant Got its Spots , published by Ernest Graphics
  10. The Art of Verne, self-published (12 pages not including covers pages.)
  11. Dragon's Teeth ,published by Dragon's Teeth Productions http://www.comics.org/series/79692/covers/

Avalon Comics to ADD;

ISSUES to ADD:
  1. issues of Jupiter, such as #3 (only #9 currently at http://comicbookdb.com/title.php?ID=25785 )

This is already in the database, though the indicia title could be incorrect.

Thanks for finding that.
Inside front cover (of that issue) says "BADGER® VOL. 2 No. 1, BADGER BEDLAM, Spring 1991. ..."
"FIRST PRINTING: MARCH 1991"
(capitalization above is as printed in the comic)

Morethings to add:
* The Archival Press Inc. Illustrated Checklist to Underground Comix, prelimary edition, 128 pages, $4.50 (with cover by Robert Crumb)
* arc vol 2 (first issue has 12pages of comics, out of total of 32pages; apparently published by Arts Industria ... horrible arty-layout makes inside front cover hard to read)
* Vinegar series, self-published by Jason Turner. Jason's done other comics work ... but http://jasonturnerproject.storenvy.com/ only lists Vinegar {and True Loves, but True Loves is already listed in comicbookdb database.}
** I think other Jason Turner comix include (thanks to Vancouver Library catalog)
    Red and Ultra J in Security Comics
    Edgar's House
    Five Vodka Bottles I Have Known
    Walk to Work
    ZZLE
Added August6: Jason Turner also did "Very Quiet" comic.

I merged "Penguin" and "Penguin Group" and while doing so I also removed "Puffin" and "Plume" as publishers as both are imprints (well, techncally Penguin itself is an imprint of Random House...).
That said does anybody know if Raw Books has always been an imprint or if it was a publisher on its own in its first years?

I believe Raw was self published for Volume One, and the one-shots, and only Volume Two was with Penguin.

Also, Penguin didn't merge with Random House until just a couple years ago.

Ah, okay. :)
What do you think about
Art Spiegelman: Comix, Essays, Graphics and Scraps (1999)
Little Lit (2000) OGN HC vol. 03 and
The Narrative Corpse (1995)

They are listed under Raw Books as publisher and I'd say they were/are more likely published by Penguin with Raw Books being the imprint - but I don't have those and don't want to change it without checking (because maybe the publisher was briefly reactivated or was never a "true" imprint and it was more or a co-operation deal or something like this like Humanoids and DC).

Also, Penguin didn't merge with Random House until just a couple years ago.

True (I forgot the "now") and man, does it get confusing with those large corporations and there constant changing of names. Same with Marvel.

Narrative Corpse was co-published by Raw Books and Gates of Heck.

Little Lit vol. 3 is copyright to RAW Junior, LLC. Copyright information includes the text "For information write to HarperCollins Children's Books, a division of HarperCollins Publishers Inc." There's no connection between Harper and RAW mentioned". So maybe it's co-published between HarperCollins and RAW Junior. It should be noted that the previous two volumes feature near identical text. They also feature the text "A RAW Junior book with Joanna Cotler books." Cotler is an imprint of HarperCollins Children's Books.

Art Spiegelman: Comix, Essays, Graphics and Scraps isn't so clear. It was an exhibit catalog which was curated by the Italian publisher Sellerio Editore for the La Centrale dell'Arte, but the catalog is dual language and neither is Italian (German and English instead). RAW designed the book, and may have published it solely.

Penguin was not involved with any of those three. And I think your suggestion of a Humanoids/DC type of deal is accurate. Copyright information in any issue of Raw vol. 2 doesn't suggest Raw Books is connected to Penguin at all.

(still too much collection to sift through)

More things to add:
  • Air Guitar , apparently published by Doom Juice Press Productions ... and printed by The Small Publishers Co-Op.
  • The Magic Teeth Dailies, self-published
  • Chinese Astrology, published by Asiapac Books PTE Ltd, Singapore, first published February 1996 {not at comics.org apparently}
