User Accounts Update *IMPORTANT, PLEASE READ*

Postby Chris » Tue Sep 09, 2014 9:12 pm

I've been talking to a server breach expert and his strong recommendation was to reset everyone's passwords rather than hope that all users do so. Because the information is out there, the last thing we want to have happen is someone logs in as you and wrecks your collection or something along those lines because you didn't change your password soon enough.

So while it's going to be annoying to reset your password (particularly if you already did it once in the last 24 hours), it's for the best for us to be safe. If you changed your password in the last day, you can reset it to that password again, just don't use the password from before the breach.

I'm working with our web host, I'm hoping we have a backup of the database from before this happened - if so, we should be able to restore most of anything missing.

Oh by the way, this has already had an affect. My email was hacked and someone got a hold of my grandma asking for money.

We were only hacked the once. I reset everyone's passwords as a safety precaution so that people who didn't immediately hear about the news would have their password changed.

See my post here about the massive GMail account leak that happened two days ago. Changing your e-mail account password is a good idea.

Have you reset passwords again? I've now reset my password twice since the very initial announcement and login is failing again, as if the password has been reset again.

No, they've only been reset the once.

I'm unable to access the mobile site after changing my password. I am able to log in to the main site with my new password.
