Genre categories, filters and tags regarding content for individual comic series would allow those interested in pursuing comic books as either a casual or heavy hobby to actually explore what's out there.

Pardon me if this comparison offends; but when I was looking to get into anime series, there are at least two websites where I was able to peruse a large amount of well put together genres and sub-genres. It was so granular that I was able to find a few series about cooking and the restaurant business. I enjoyed them immensely. However, I have yet to see such resources for comic books. What I've only gotten from multiple websites is info completely irrelevant to the story such as artists, resale prices, and so on. This doesn't help me find series I may be interested in. It serves as a huge barrier to entry for us "outsiders".

Think of it this way. Even before you know what author to look for in the library, you have a good idea of the category of book you're looking for - mystery, reference, travel, etcetera. The same applies to video games; when looking for a new one to play we don't browse online resources looking for developer, game engine or font used.

If such a resource existed where people like me could find comic book series with subjects that interested them, I'm sure it would be a big help for people who may just be in it for the stories =) .

Another thing to do.

Keep an eye for very incorrect cover prices.

Example: price of Dark Visions (1986) #2 at http://comicbookdb.com/issue.php?ID=320010 WAS 170 ($170 USA I think)
So corrected to $1.70.

Noticed various comics listed at
http://torontozinelibrary.blogspot.ca/2 ... chive.html

So if you are in (or near) Toronto ... fair amount of comics listed at http://www.torontozinelibrary.org/zinelisting.cgi (incomplete list)

And if you are not near Toronto ... maybe check out Toronto's lists and see if you can find those comix elsewhere.

such as:
* "El Explodo": a true story (FROM torontozinelibrary.org/zinelisting.cgi )
* 2 selections from Woodstock Reichstag (FROM torontozinelibrary.org/zinelisting.cgi )
* 4 1/2 #0 (FROM torontozinelibrary.org/zinelisting.cgi )

http://comicbookdb.com/storyarc.php?ID=5858
noticed description was "Notes: The first numbers from image reprinted for know their stories"
Confused by wording.

Re-worded into:
"The first issues of comics published by Image reprinted for new readers to read an introduction to a series."

ALSO, can someone PLEASE BUY a copy of How Not to Draw Manga (published by Antarctic Press)
apparently there is a 'supersize' (regular size?) version and a pocket-manga-size

regular-size: http://www.antarctic-press.com/html/ver ... hp?id=2230
pocket size: http://www.antarctic-press.com/html/ver ... hp?id=4982

EDiT: And can someone who has any of the Gutters collections please add them to the DB

Can someone who has Maximum Minimum Wage (HC) , please add it to the database?
https://imagecomics.com/comics/releases ... um-wage-hc

(preferably someone who has the individual issues of Minimum Wage it collects from and thus can confirm if anything was left out of the collection)

To do: Add comics published by Strongarm Labs.

Currently various Strongarm comics are listed at
http://comicbookdb.com/publisher.php?ID=3421

however most of the titles have no associated issues in the database. "Number of issues cataloged: 0"

and The Goo (2007) - #1 webpage ( http://comicbookdb.com/issue.php?ID=214918 ) doesn't have any credits.

Database page for
If You Have to Ask 2 (2008) - #1 is semi-ok (with three credits), but no cover scan.

To do: clean-up story arcs.

Keep an eye out for story arcs with the same name.

comicbookdb had five story arcs named "Split Second Chance",
but the problem was that 100 Bullets issues were in all five of them.

So moved the 100 Bullets/"Split Second Chance" issues into one story arc
and added disambiguation titles to the end of their names.
And turns out there were only three story arcs with that name, NOT five story arcs.

1) Split Second Chance (100 Bullets) : http://www.comicbookdb.com/storyarc.php?ID=2957
2) Split Second Chance (Iron Man) : http://www.comicbookdb.com/storyarc.php?ID=4725
3) Split Second Chance (Webspinners) : http://www.comicbookdb.com/storyarc.php?ID=1127

EDIT: Split Second Chance (100 Bullets) includes

{some 100 Bullets TPB and HC and...}
100 Bullets (1999) #6
100 Bullets (1999) #7
100 Bullets (1999) #8
100 Bullets (1999) #9 {issue name: The Right Ear, Left in the Cold}(db says Issue Tagline: "Split Second Chance")(cover scan includes "The Right Ear, Left in the cold part 1 of 2")
100 Bullets (1999) #11
100 Bullets (1999) #12
100 Bullets (1999) #13
100 Bullets (1999) #14

now I'm not sure why #10 isn't included in the story arc, which has "The Right Ear, Left in the Cold, Part 2 (of 2)" on cover.
http://www.comicbookdb.com/graphics/com ... _large.jpg

#10 is in story arc "SpyBoy" http://www.comicbookdb.com/storyarc.php?ID=4206
which only contains four other issues
"Dark Horse Extra (1998) #15
Dark Horse Extra (1998) #16
Dark Horse Extra (1998) #17
Dark Horse Extra (1998) #18"

question one: does Dark Horse Extra have a story arc titled SpyBoy?
question two: does 100 Bullets #10 have any Dark Horse SpyBoy content. Or was that a mistake?

It looks like the first linked arc used to be another differently named arc of 100 Bullets: Short Con, Long Odds. The two Split Second arcs you found which are no longer in the database under that name may have been two other arcs: The Right Ear, Left in the Cold; and Parlez Kung Vous. Based on the renaming of the first one and the issues you've listed, I'm guessing the member retitled all the smaller arcs to match the the title of the collected TPB which reprints them.

What are the two other Split Second Arcs now named as?

Edit: Found one of them, you reused it as Metal (DC). Found the other, still titled reuse.

Dark Horse Extra does have a SpyBoy arc in the issues listed. No idea why that issue of 100 Bullets was added, must be a mistake.

I've reverted the two Marvel series to their original story arc titles. Neither has anything "Split Second Chance" related to them.

Edit: Ah, ok, figured it out. The member added incorrect story arcs from unrelated series to 100 Bullets issues, and instead of removing the arcs from the issues he retitled the arcs to suit his purposes. And my earlier supposition that he retitled arcs to match the TPB's title still stands. Looks like he's done similar edits to the first fifteen issues of the series. Hopefully that's all he messed with.

He retitled a few storyarcs from other series as well. I think they're all taken care of now.

To do: find reprints of 100 Bullets (1999) - TPB vol. 01
to confirm when they were printed.

There are six printings of that TPB in the database (from "(2nd Printing)" TO "(7th Printing)",
but all have "Cover Date" of 2000,
which means SEVEN printings in ONE year which I doubt happened
(I think some of the "2000" dates resulted when issues were cloned in database).

I checked my main local comicshop and they didn't have any of TPB volume one,
so I will have to check other local shops and see if they have any of volume one.
(Main local library no longer has volume one...
they are switching their collection of 100 Bullets from the smaller volumes to larger "Deluxe" book collections).

DC trades of that era usually don't update the date for new printings in the copyright information unfortunately, so they'd still have the first printing's date. You'd have to research publication archives from Diamond or Comiclist to determine when they were published most likely. I don't know when they started including the date they were printed at the printer.

Another to do.

Add comics that are part of Marvel's Marvel Legacy project to
'Marvel Legacy' storyarc list.
http://comicbookdb.com/storyarc.php?ID=6230

I realize Marvel Legacy isn't a storyarc,
this is a stop-gap measure until the public lists have been modified so people can collaborate.
